2009 -
February -

Sundays of the month we're hosting
"Alpaca Ownership 1A" seminars on a
regular bases - the third Saturday of each month. The cost is $20
and for that you get snacks, lunch, information on
alpacas including hands-on experience with some of
our beasties. We are also donating part of
every fee to local camelid rescue organizations.
Please register early via
email or phone.
January -
Unfortunately our first event of 2009 is not a
happy one. We found Olga dead in the pasture
on the morning of the 10th. She was with us
only three months, but she will be missed.

2008 -
November - December -
We have been accepted for the
Ballard Sunday Market. This is the only other
year 'round market besides Pike Place. It is
an amazing market that even this late in the year is
going strong! We'll be attending the market
starting the second Sunday of December and can't
wait!!
We currently have the Farm Store
open Saturday from 11am-5pm and always by
appointment.
October -
The Redmond Market came to an end
for this year. It was an amazing experience
for us which we hope to repeat in 2009.
September -

Our three newest
arrivals - Olga (center) born 9/21/08, Teemo (right)
born 9/23/08 and Taras (left) born 9/25/08. We
not only got one girl this year, but an even split
of two girls and two boys! Taras is also our
stud Brut's first cria and based on how well he
turned out there will definitely be more!

the new babies and their moms.
General Farm
Happenings -
We're at the
Redmond Market - 9am-3pm on Saturdays through
the end of October.
Currently the Farm
is open Sundays from 11am - 5pm, but we'll have to
wait and see what happens starting in November, the
Ballard Market, the holidays etc.
We're also getting
ready for National Alpaca Farm Days, 9/27-28!
We'll be open from 10am-5pm both days and looking
forward to everyone who stops by!
We're also waiting
for our three girls to have their crias - Iraida is
due on 9/19; Phoenix and Talaris are both due in
early October. All three are very ready to
have these babies!
March 12th -
Finally! Our
second female cria arrived! It's been three
years and six boys later, but she's a cutie! Her
name is Daecia (Dye-ee-cya) - named after the
Inspector in Russia who had to approve our
adoption. Mat
thinks she's wonderful, but her mom, Elayna, is
still keeping the boys at bay.
We are excited to
announce the opening or our Farm Store February 16!
We are dividing it into three sections - Imports
(everything we order from South America); Made In
America - from the NAAFP who guarantee that all
products are made in America from fiber grown and
processed in America;
Local Artist - Pam will have
her fiber products here as well as log cabin quilted
trivets from her Mom:
.
There will be socks, gloves, hats,
sweaters, scarves etc. We're hoping to even
have some of NAAFP's alpaca stuffed duvets available.

2007 -
December -
We lost our oldest Suri, and oldest female,
Peruvian Madras. She was also part of our
foundation girl and unfortunately she never gave us
a cria. She had lots of character and she is
most definitely missed.
November -

We lost our oldest huacaya girl, Bolivian Ashley.
She was part of our foundation herd purchase and she
gave us our first cria - and only girl so far -
Iraida in 2005. She miscarried a few weeks
ago, another girl, and passed quietly the night of
the 19th. Iraida was her only cria for us, but
she's a solid, beautiful girl who had her first cria
this year, 2007.
October 5 -
Our final cria for 2007 made his appearance.
We purchased Genvieve from
Luna Rosa Suris in
September and she came through with a beautiful boy
- Pahnymayet (Russian for "he understands").
He's a gorgeous mahogany brown, just like his mom.
His sire,
Brioni's Gordon, is a beautiful Dark Rose Grey
which means a wide range of color possibilities in
this little guy's future.

September 29 -
During NAFD Jim decides it would be a good time to join
in the fun. His dam, CTA Iraida was our first
cria born on the farm and she had no clue what to
do. So after much consultation with my vet I
ended up pulling Jim into the world. Another
beautiful suri from our stud,
StarFighter, from a huacaya dam.
We're very impressed with how alike they two boys
are - StarFighter definitely stamps his cria.
We're hoping that he and KS Genevieve give us a girl
in 2008.

September 12th -
Konstantine arrives on the scene. His dam
is a CTA Talaris, huacaya, and his sire is
StarFighter, suri.

May 9th -
Judge R. makes his first appearance. His
dam , Miss Phoenix,
gave us another beautiful fawn, suri boy. His
sire is
Polo Fields Dillinger, a beautiful medium fawn
suri.

2006 -
August 24th -
Talaris gave birth to a beautiful fawn/brown boy,
Evgeny. We named him after the gentleman in
Moscow who took care of the last details of our
adoption of Roman and Edyk.

Before Evgeny's arrival, Talaris itipped the scale
at close to 200 pounds and that's after removing
almost ten pounds of fleece this year. Evgeny's sire
is Morovis de
Bolivia and his mom is down to 186 pounds.
2005
August 20
CTA Alex was born on our farm. He was our
second cria, baby, born on the farm. Pam
happened to be outside watching a very uncomfortable
Miss Phoenix try to get comfortable when she
realized that what she was doing was going into
labor. Within ten minutes we had classic
presentation of an alpaca giving birth.

Thirty minutes later we had a very wet, very
alive, suri cria on the ground who was named after
our driver while we were in Russia, Alex (I never
knew his last name).

June 8
Our first cria was born on the farm - CTA Iraida.
A beautiful, white huacaya we named after the lady
who was in charge of the children's home in Russia
where our two boys lived for three years before we
brought them home in 2003.

This was taken a few hours after she was born.
Ashley, her mom, waited until everyone was gone
before giving birth. Ashley was sheared a week
after these pictures were taken.

September 2004 - the girls arrived at
their new home at Heart of Dreams Alpacas. |
